I need a job...

How do I begin?

1. Come into a MontgomeryWorks location. (No appointment is necessary)

2. Check in at the Reception Desk. (They will ask your name, SS#, reason for coming*, and city you live in.)

3. To conduct an independent job search, go to the RESOURCE   CENTER and register with the  Maryland JOB SERVICE. (This is   simple self entry on a computer. You may also search for jobs on the same system.)

4. When you see a job in which you are interested, you will meet with a job service representative who will provide you information about the job and assist you with your job search.

5. If you are interested in further career assistance, or attending a workshop, please ask for the Career Resource Specialist who will assist you.

* If you have been laid off from your job, please indicate this immediately.  You may be eligible for more services and career related training!
