A new workforce training initiative designed to assist Maryland businesses by providing financial support for training incumbent workers.
MARYLAND BUSINESS WORKS WILL:
Strengthen Maryland companies
Increase employee skill sets
Encourage promotion & career growth of current workers
Improve retention of existing workforce
PRIORITY FOCUS ON:
Small Businesses (50 employees or less)
Healthcare industry
Biotech & Information Technology sector
Retail, Sales, & Service industry
Other high growth occupations
TO QUALIFY:
Must be a Maryland based business or non-profit
Training must increase the skills of existing workers
HIGHLIGHTS:
50% of training costs are reimbursable to employers
Training funds up to $2,500 per employee & up to $20,000 per business or non-profit
