Montgomery Youth Works Logo

The mission of Montgomery Youth Works is to provide youth with meaningful training and employment opportunities aimed at facilitating a successful transition from school to work and to contribute to workforce development in Montgomery County.

MYW:
  • Provides young people with work readiness skills
  • Recruits, screens, trains, and places young people in jobs pledged by Montgomery County employers
  • Exposes young people to career options through training, paid internships, and job placements
  • Helps employers make the most of youth hires through ongoing follow-up and accountability
  • Aims for self-support through business contributions, grants, fundraising events, and nominal $200 placement fees.

In 1998 United States Secretary of Labor, Alexis Herman, presented MYW with an award for exemplary service in youth employment and training.  Montgomery Youth Works has received the National Association of Counties’ award for Workforce Excellence.

MYW was twice selected to represent Montgomery County in its pursuit for the All-American Cities Award.
